Wison New Energies Showcases Innovative Compact Carbon Capture Study on Floating Units at WGC2025

Beijing, May 21, 2025 — Wison New Energies (WNE) successfully showcased its Compact Carbon Capture Study on Floating Units at WGC2025, the premier event in the global gas and energy industry, often referred to as the "Olympics" of the gas industry.

Damien Xuan Chi Nguyen, CTO of Wison New Energies, delivered an insightful presentation on the potential to compact Carbon Capture thanks to: Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), and Compact Design and Modularization.


This innovative solution demonstrates that carbon capture on floating production units can be both technically feasible and economically viable. Future work will focus on further analyzing the carbon capture plant's integration with subsea storage systems, gas turbine performance under EGR conditions, with a comprehensive CAPEX and OPEX comparison between different configurations.
