The ceremony was attended by Zafer Demircan, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye; Ercan Kılınçkıran, Deputy Director General of Foreign Relations, Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye; Özlem Kural, Consul General of Türkiye in Shanghai; Hüseyin Eyeci, Vice President and Deputy General Manager of Technical Affairs at TPAO; Uğur Karakaş, CEO & Member of the Board of TP-OTC; Liu Hongjun, Chairman of Wison New Energies; and representatives of DNV and other distinguished guests.

As the core offshore production facility of Sakarya Phase 3, the deepwater FPU will perform essential functions including natural gas processing, compression, and export. It is designed for a gas export capacity of 25 million standard cubic meters per day, operation in ultra-deep water at a depth of 2,150 meters and a service life of 30 years. Once operational, it will support Türkiye’s domestic natural gas supply.

Mr. Liu Hongjun, Chairman of Wison New Energies, said: “From first steel cutting for the hull, through the start of topsides fabrication, to today’s keel laying, the project has progressed steadily. The transition from hull block fabrication to hull assembly places greater demands on on-site coordination and overall project management. We will draw on our strengths as an integrated EPCIC contractor to ensure close coordination across all project phases, working with the client and our partners to uphold stringent safety and quality standards and ensure orderly project execution.”
